Work Study Positions for 2025/2026 School Year:

• A number of Work Study positions will be available to current Sheldon students at the following schools:
  • Sheldon HS
  • Elementary Schools: Buena Vista, Gilham, Holt, Willagillespie 
  • Middle Schools: Cal Young, Monroe
• Applications will open in February/March for the following academic year

• Positions begin February 4, 2025

• Students are hired as 4J employees and work an average of 10 hours a week
• Current resume and one Sheldon staff member letter of recommendation are required
• There will be an interview and hiring process for all positions
• Requirements:
  • Current student that will be at least 16 years old by February 4, 2025
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Available to work for 2 consecutive periods

Hours can be flexible to match availability as long as they meet operational needs. The work is in with our Dining unit and includes cleaning and basic tasks.  Students would not operate any heavy machinery, cutting / slicing equipment.

  • A year-long program that trains and hires CNAs into the long-term care field–at no cost to them. The Apprenticeship further supports students by providing them with a paid stipend as they complete training, wraparound services to alleviate non-programmatic costs (transportation, food, etc.), and Career Coach mentorship as they master their skills in their first year as a CNA1 ($18/hr).
