- Eugene School District 4J is partnering with community providers to make COVID-19 vaccines readily available at no cost for staff, students, families and community members. - What is Snowflakes of Joy? Snowflakes of Joy is a program Sheldon has supported for 20 years. We aims to provide students in need with gifts during this time of giving and aspire to do our part to aid those in difficult financial situations by continuing this long-standing tradition. This year, Leadership and National Honor Society are hosting this project together.
- Our Goal: To raise $6,000 to serve 300 low-income students from our feeder elementary and middle schools, as well as students here at Sheldon. If we raise more than this goal, we can serve more families.
- How to Help: Snowflakes of Joy features two different opportunities to give:
- 1. Students can take a snowflake ornament off our display outside of the main office to sponsor a gift card for a family in need. Bring $20 (cash, check, or CC) to the Leadership or NHS student outside the Main Office before school, at lunch or after school.
- 2. QR codes on the back of each ornament will bring you to our SchoolPay site if you want to use a credit card. You can also donate directly through SchoolPay in any amount at this link: Snowflakes of Joy Schoolpay Donations accepted through 12/15
- PARENT INFO SESSION ON COVID CASES AND QUARANTINES: Eugene School District 4J held a parent information webinar on Tuesday, Nov. 9, to keep families up to date about COVID-19 and schools. During the 45-minute session, introduced by Interim Superintendent Cydney Vandercar, district staff addressed questions submitted by parents about what happens when there’s a COVID-19 case identified at a school, including contact tracing, quarantine requirements, communication, and more. Staff also provided information about the availability of vaccines against COVID-19, which reduce both the risk of getting and spreading the virus, and the risk of having to quarantine at home for two weeks if exposed to a positive case. Under current public health guidance, if a person who is fully vaccinated is exposed to COVID-19 and does not have symptoms, they are not required to quarantine. Eugene School District 4J is committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. Thank you for doing your part to help the district and community reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and keep our students learning in the classroom each school day. https://vimeo.com/644598018
