- YEARBOOK: The Shamrock Yearbook Staff is looking for stories that are inspiring, adventurous, inclusive and supportive. Please share your photos and stories with us via the HJ eShare app. You can also contact us with story leads or information via our email address: yearbooksheldon@gmail.com. - STUDENT ATTENDANCE: Please make sure to call the attendance line whenever your student will be late, excused early or absent the entire day: 541-790-6606.
- STUDENT NUTRITION: All students 18 years old and younger eat free all year. For school menus, free and reduced lunch applications and Oregon P-EBT Program info, please go here.
- GRADUATION PLANNING: The time is NOW to place your graduation order directly with Miners Graduate Services for your 2021-22 Senior. Paper packets were handed out to seniors during our Back to School event and are available in the Sheldon office. ALL GRADUATION orders should be placed with Miners before Friday, 11/05/21. Announcements / caps and gowns will be available for pick up in the spring.
- CANVAS PAIRING FOR PARENTS: Sheldon is working in Canvas as our learning platform again this year. Make sure you sign up as an observer to see your student’s grades and assignments (with teacher feedback). Please use this link to sign up. Grades in your student’s classes will be updated and available by this Friday. Additional support is located here.
- LIFETOUCH PICTURES: Pictures arrived at Sheldon and will be distributed this week to those students that did not pick them up in the office. - EVERYDAY NATIVE: This easy-to-use tool for 4th-12th grades is based on primary sources and enhances existing curriculum across subjects. - WEEKLY VACCINE CLINICS: Eugene School District 4J is partnering with community providers to make COVID-19 vaccines readily available at no cost for staff, students, families and community members. As the school year gets underway, the district is continuing to host weekly Lane County Public Health vaccine clinics at 4J school sites. Schedule an Appointment

- SHELDON COMMUNITY RESPONDER: A Sheldon Community Responder is a volunteer that responds to “alerts” sent by the 15th Night Coordinator for needs specific to SHS students that have not been met by internal school resources. These type of alerts would be for items such as clothing, shoes, small household items, food or bedding. A Sheldon Community Responder would receive a text message indicating a need. If the Responder can provide the need, they respond to the text message and work with the SHS Coordinator to secure and deliver the item. Contact Trista Neuman at Neuman_t@4j.lane.edu
- SCHOOL MESSENGER PREFERENCES: You can control the messages you receive from Sheldon High School through your preferences in SchoolMessenger.
- Step 1: Navigate to go.schoolmessenger.com
- Step 2: Sign up using the email address we have on file for you in Synergy so SchoolMessenger will recognize you as a contact for Sheldon.
- Step 3: Check your email for SchoolMessenger account confirmation.
- Step 4: Sign in to SchoolMessenger.
- Step 5: Hover over the Menu icon on the top left corner of your screen to view menu options and select Preferences. Under “My message preferences,” you can manage how the school contacts you for different types of messages (general, emergency, or attendance). If we do not have your email address on file in Synergy, SchoolMessenger will not recognize you as a contact for Sheldon and the “Preferences” option will not appear in the menu. Please note: You will not be able to opt-out of all emergency and attendance messages. At least one phone number is required for these notifications. Contact our Registrar, Amy Hendrickson, at hendrickson_a@4J.lane.edu to add or update your email address. Your updated contact information will transfer to SchoolMessenger overnight – update your preferences in SchoolMessenger the next day.

- OPTIONAL STUDENT COVID TESTING: Eugene School District 4J is pleased to partner with the OHS and UO to provide free COVID-19 testing to all 4J students during the 2021–22 school year. The program offers voluntary weekly screening testing for students in grades K–12 via a take-home saliva test. This is an optional program, so interested students must opt-in here.
