As a reminder, Sheldon High School is not open to the public. Staff is in the building between the hours of 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and are checking both email and phone lines to respond to questions. The Sheldon COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER is a resource center for students and parents focused on post High School planning. Resources available include information on 2- and 4- year colleges, tech programs, trade schools, scholarships, financial aid, testing, military, NCAA and international/local summer opportunities. It is an excellent opportunity for parents to learn about colleges, scholarship information and resources.

STUDENT FORECASTING
Schedule forecasting for the 2021-22 school year, for grades 9-11 wrapped up last week. While the Forecasting Google Form is currently closed, it will re-open for make-up on March 9 – 12. Students needing help with this should contact their counselor or Forecasting Team Kay Graham or Kristi Savage. If students do not forecast, a counselor will make a schedule for them.

2020-21 School Year Photos:
9th – 11th grade students, yearbook wants your portrait! The Yearbook staff wants to include every student in the yearbook, but without traditional student images, we need your help!
Please see the flyer attached for step-by-step instructions to get your student’s school picture included in the yearbook this year!

ACE AWARDS
There is no better time to show appreciation for a deserving 4J teacher, licensed professional, staff member or administrator with an ACE (A Champion in Education) Awards nomination. Submit a nomination by April 15 – more information here.
FREE COVID TESTING
Free COVID testing for 4J families, staff and community members will be offered at the 4J Education Center, 200 N. Monroe St, every other week through August. Testing is provided by the University of Oregon, and is a self-collected shallow nasal swab. Results will be available within 2–4 days.
Testing is free and available to everyone regardless of insurance or immigration status. It is offered on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointments will be available. Preregistration is recommended, but not required: blogs.uoregon.edu/osjp/registro.
When: Saturday, February 13 & 27 and continuing every two weeks
Time: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

ATHLETICS
Eligibility for Tri-3: The OSAA requires all athletes to be full-time students. At Sheldon, that means they are enrolled in 2 credits–usually 4 classes. Please talk to your student’s counselor if you’re uncertain if they will meet this requirement in Trimester 3. Visit sheldonirishathletics.com for more information!
