Each year, Eugene School District 4J honors exceptional employees and volunteers through the Golden Apple Awards, recognizing those who go above and beyond in service to students, families, and our school community. This year, 272 incredible individuals have been nominated district-wide—and we are proud to announce that nine of our very own Sheldon staff members have been recognized for their outstanding contributions.

Please join us in congratulating the following Sheldon Golden Apple nominees:

  • Michael Washburn^, Social Studies Teacher

  • Todd Wellman*, Physical Education Teacher

  • Richard Zapata Bello, Spanish Immersion Social Studies Teacher, International High School at Sheldon

  • Alicia Martin, Educational Assistant

  • Kristi Savage, Records and Scheduling Assistant

  • Regine Childs, Assistant Principal

  • Danielle Glenzel, Physical Education Teacher

Todd Wellman has also been nominated for the Apple Seed Award, which honors an educator excelling in the first three years of their career.
^ Michael Washburn is also a nominee for the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing those at or nearing retirement who have made a lasting impact throughout their career.

These individuals represent the heart of Sheldon: dedicated, compassionate, and deeply committed to the success of our students. We are so proud to see their hard work and care recognized in this meaningful way.

Winners will be announced soon, but in the meantime, please help us celebrate and thank each nominee for the difference they make every day.

Respectfully,
